The Deans of UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and UCLA School of Medicine meet at the first Zoobiquity Conference 2011
“Accelerating biomedical innovation through collaboration between leaders in human and animal medicine”
The mission of Zoobiquity conferences is to accelerate biomedical innovation by bringing together leaders in human and animal health, evolutionary and conservation biology, and ecology and public health for focused and strategic collaborations aimed at solving high impact human and animal health concerns.
First held in 2011, some Zoobiquity Conferences have been more focused on research agendas (Stanford 2014); others on the effect of environments on human and animal health (Seattle 2014); while others have focused on specialties such as neurology and psychiatry (New York 2016).
In September 2019, a special Zoobiquity Symposium: Bio-Inspired Medicine, supported and funded by the Karolinska Institute, DEVREG and Zoobiquity Research Initiative, convened in Stockholm, Sweden one day prior to the Nobel Conference. The Zoobiquity Symposium at the Karolinska Institute turned to the natural world to develop innovative approaches to two major concerns in women’s health: heart failure and fertility preservation.
In July 2022 the Portuguese Medical Association and Portuguese Veterinary Medical Association will co-host a one-day Zoobiquity Conference in Lisbon, Portugal. The theme will be Female Health Across the Tree of Life.
